Fee Schedule

January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2006
All amounts include GST. Fees for Canadians in NB, NS and NL are shown including HST. 

Full Fee

$148.40 including GST 
$159.50 including HST 
Members joining after July 1st pay $74.20 including GST or $79.80 including HST.

Spousal Rate

$74.20 including GST

If both spouses belong to the Institute, one member will pay the full fee and the other member is entitled to pay one-half the annual fee. Only one copy of L'Actualité chimique / Canadian Chemical News (ACCN) is provided under this arrangement. When requesting this rate, indicate spouse's name and member number.

Retired Members

$74.20 including GST 
$79.80 including HST
Current members who have retired from active full-time employment and for whom the sum of their age plus years as a member equal 85 are eligible for this rate. Verification of age and years of membership may be required.

Postdoc Members

Effective January 2005, The Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC) will have a new postdoctoral membership category. The annual fee is 50% of the full-fee membership rate, provides the same benefits as full-fee membership and includes a new registration discount for postdocs attending the CSC and CSChE conferences.

The postdoctoral membership's conditions are:
• The application form or renewal invoice must be signed by the supervisor;
• The new fee is not retroactive;
• The new category is valid for up to three years from the year of graduation.

Unemployed Members

To be eligible you must have been a paid full-fee member for at least one year and provide evidence of unemployment at the time of renewal. Members in good standing may request that fees be waived until employment is obtained. This option is available to a maximum of two years. 

Extra Division

$5.30 including GST

The first Subject Division is included in the membership fee. An additional fee is charged for each additional Division.

Additional Society

$21.20 including GST 
$22.80 including HST
Members may pay an additional charge to belong to a second or third Constituent Society.

Students

Graduate Students

To qualify for the graduate student rate, you must be presently enrolled full–time in a masters or doctoral program.

Undergraduate Students

$26.50 including GST 
$28.50 including HST 
Undergraduate Students may become involved with the CIC and its Constituent Societies through their Student Chapter but will not receive full member benefits unless they become paid CIC members. Membership in the Student Chapter does not qualify students for full member benefits.
To qualify for the undergraduate student rate, you must be presently enrolled full–time in a bachelors or diploma program.

First Year after Graduation

$74.20 including GST

For the first year only after graduating from any undergraduate or graduate degree or technology diploma program, members may pay half the full fee required. Please notify the membership department of your graduation date and degree or diploma obtained.
