- Aura Pombert is a teacher at Harry Ainlay Composite High School in Edmonton. This year, Mrs. Pombert and two of her students, Lina Zhang and Rongjia Liu, won the teacher and student National Crystal Growing Contests, respectively. To honour this achievement the Edmonton local Section awarded small gifts (beaker mugs, T-shirts, chemistry textbooks, and laminated periodic tables) to the victors at our AGM, Wednesday, May 6, 2009. Almost without fail over the years, Mrs. Pombert and her students have finished high in the ratings for the crystal growing competition more.
