These lectures are intended to be annual events addressing chemistry-related topics of concern to the general public. Our inaugural speaker will be Graham Thomson, the noted columnist from the Edmonton Journal. He will be speaking on a topic that he researched as a Canadian Journalism Foundation fellow at the University of Toronto in 2008-2009: “Burying Carbon Dioxide in Underground Saline Aquifers: Political folly or climate change fix?” His lectures are scheduled for Edmonton April 7, 2010, and Calgary on April 14, 2010. A reception will follow each of the lectures. For details, a short biography and abstract, please refer to the attached flyer.
